Each month, Austin Songcore brings together local songwriters for a free showcase celebrating original music and the stories behind it. Our thoughtfully curated lineups feature artists across genres, backgrounds, and styles, giving audiences a chance to discover some of the incredible songwriting happening right here in Austin.

What to expect
Interested in performing?

Our showcases take place once a month (2nd Thursday of each month) at Barrel O’ Fun, inside Alamo Drafthouse Mueller in Austin, TX.
Admission is free.
Doors are at 7 PM. Music starts at 7:30 and usually goes till about 9 PM.

Our showcases are designed as a true listening-room experience. We ask audiences to keep conversation to a minimum during performances so every artist has the opportunity to share their work with an engaged, attentive room.
Alamo Drafthouse is known for creating an environment where audiences can give their full attention to what’s on screen, and we bring that same philosophy to live music. Our no-talking-during-performances policy creates an intentional listening-room experience where artists can share their work with an engaged audience and every song gets the attention it deserves.

Each showcase features four local artists, with each songwriter performing a selection of original songs and sharing a little about the stories, ideas, and experiences behind them.
It’s a Nashville-style, writer round format, meaning that each artist takes turns, each sharing 3 songs. Music lasts from about 7:30-9:00 PM.

Barrel O’ Fun is a bar and stage located inside Alamo Drafthouse. The full Alamo food and drink menu is available to order before the show. There is a parking garage attached to the building and parking validation is available to patrons at the front desk of the Alamo Drafthouse.
We’re always looking to discover new local songwriters! Artists are selected through
an application process, with lineups intentionally curated to showcase a diverse range
of genres, perspectives, and voices from across Austin’s music community.
